The Alabama Modeling and Simulation Council (AMSC) announces AlaSim
International 2012, May 1-3, 2012, at the Von Braun Center in Huntsville,
Alabama, USA.

AlaSim is designed to showcase the breadth and depth of simulation activity
in Alabama and to collect, document, display and discuss the current state
of simulation technology throughout the world.

AlaSim 2012 is soliciting modeling and simulation papers, project and
program briefings, panel discussions, workshops, tutorials, student posters,
and exhibits displaying simulation products and services.

Digital Design Engineer_Bucharest

For our client, a multinational company, office in Bucharest we are looking for a Digital Design Engineer.
You will be responsible for:
• Specification, development, simulation and functional verification of digital blocks used inside integrated circuits for automotive applications
• RTL design and synthesis, simulation, power and static timming analysis
• Developing functional testbenches based on datasheet specifications, application notes and CE/Designer review
• Verification of the proper behaviour of circuits, pass/fail automated test benches
• Design and Testbenches documentation, support for the Test Engineer and Product Engineer and ATE

Requirements:
• Completed University study with basic knowledge in electronics and semi-conductor
technology
• Understanding of transistor and gate level schematic functionality
• Minimum 3 years
experience in Digital (and Mixed Signal) Design
• Solid VHDL and/or Verilog design and debugging
skills
• Good knowledge in CAD applications and programming languages

The following skills are

Analog Design Engineer_Bucharest

For our client, a multinational company, we are lookginf for a Analog Design Engineer.
You will be responsible for designing and simulating integrated circuits, according to specifications, in different fabrication processes. Primary application areas include mixed signal RF and signal conditioning circuits for our integrated sensor products, using CMOS and BiCMOS processes. You will develop A/D and D/A converters, voltage references and regulators, oscillators, PLL, LNA, mixers, VCO, interface circuitry including the required amplifiers. Your responsibility includes planning and implementation of analog circuit blocks as well as simulation and integration in a mixed-signal product for future automotive applications. You will interact with layout team and generate the test plan for characterization. You will generate the required documentation and contribute to the validation and debugging of the resulting silicon.

Requirements:
• University degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering with minimum 1-2 years of
relevant experience
• Solid knowledge of CMOS/BiCMOS processes
• Solid knowledge of analog and
mixed signal IC design
• Good working knowledge of relevant analog IC design tools (preferably
Cadence tool suite)
• Able to work in a multi-site environment

Layout Engineer_Bucharest

Responsibilities:

Call for Expressions of Interest from candidates to Ph.D. Studentships and Post-Doc Positions

The CAST-Center for Aerospace Sciences and Technology at University of Beira Interior, in Portugal, is preparing to recruit several junior researchers (able to pursue Ph.D studies within the project group) and one research associate (at Post-doctoral level). They will perform research work within the framework of a institutions from academia and industry (http://projectmaat.org/). The work at CAST will mainly involve computational fluid dynamics (CFD) for diverse propulsion systems alternatives.

The positions are available to qualified students in the area of Mechanical Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, Applied Physics and Mathematics. The work involves the use of Open Source CFD codes, such as OpenFOAM. Experience with commercial codes (Fluent, CFX,..) and knowledge of C/C++ is an advantage. The work will also include the use of parallel processing, within the High Performance Computing facilities of CAST, to solve the complex problems under study.

International candidates are welcome. You should hold a degree (or be expecting the imminent award of one) that qualifies you to pursue Ph.D. Studies, for the junior research positions, and hold a Ph.D. in CFD with knowledge of turbulence modelling for the Post-Doc position. The contract work will start in next September and will last for 3 years. The grants will follow the established values of the Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology, for Ph.D. Studentships and 1495€/month for Post-Doc's.

Model de scrisoare de recomandare

Scrisoarea de recomandare are rolul de a intari informatiile si certificarile unui candidat mentionate in cv-ul personal si de a da angajatorului increderea necesara unei viitoare colaborari cu candidatul respectiv. In scrisoarea de recomandare fostul sau actualul sef, un manager, coleg de serviciu, profesor universitar trebuie sa scoata in evidenta calitatile candidatului prezentate intr-un mod cat mai obiectiv.
          Scrisorile de recomandare sunt cerute de un angajator in faza in care un candidat corespunde profilului jobului candidatului cerut cat si a specificatiilor jobului in sine. Intotdeauna sunt binevenite de la o persoana cu referinte bune in domeniul repsectiv si au rolul de a intari increderea angajatorului in aptitudinile descrise in CV de candidat.
          In unele cazuri, ca dovada de angajare, poate fi solicitata o simpla scrisoare cu referinte. O scrisoare cu referinte pur si simplu mentioneaza fapte si date, fara sa pomeneasca nimic despre punctele tari ale angajatului sau despre realizarile sale.
